One of the best kept secrets on the network, Dockray Meadow is the nearest Club Site to lesser-known lake beauties including Cogra Moss, Ennerdale, Loweswater, Crummock Water and Buttermere and well within easy reach of popular Keswick and Derwentwater (16m). You may opt to do little more than relax on site alongside the tumbling stream, watching the red squirrels around the site and revel in the glorious fell scenery during your stay. However, for the energetic there are plenty of walks from and around the site, and the Coast to Coast Cycle Route. St Bees Head Nature Reserve is a short drive away. Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth and a lovely old market town, is well worth a visit.
