Description

The perfect day out awaits you aboard the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, the world’s most popular heritage steam railway. Be transported back to an era when magnificent steam engines ruled the railways; with services running between Pickering and Whitby along the 24 mile line, through the heart of the North York Moors National Park.

Start your journey at Pickering and discover the history of the Railway in the visitor centre. Head into the Moors and relive the magic of Harry Potter and Heartbeat with a visit to Goathland our celebrity station; before walking to Grosmont along the rail trail. Next travel to Whitby and enjoy some seaside fun.

Visit one of our traditional station tea rooms serving scrumptious Yorkshire fayre. Stop off at Levisham and visit our artist in residence or, make a special request to the guard to visit Newtondale Halt; a perfect place to start a walking or cycling adventure and spot some magnificent wildlife on the North York Moors.

Group and School rates are available alongside our standard fares and up to 4 children go free with a family ticket.
