Description
Sail through a waterfall and across a thousand years on this underground storytelling adventure. As a Dark Age Boatman guides you through the Labyrinth ancient Welsh legends come to life.
Having sailed deep into the vast underground caverns of the Labyrinth you are in the darkest of the Dark Ages. Back in a time when the native Celtic people of Britain were defending themselves against the mighty Saxon invaders. Out of the darkness came Arthur... His feats of bravery, his supernatural powers and his strength of leadership brought defeat to his enemies and peace to the Island of Britain. His fame was sung throughout the land.
Guided by your Dark Age Boatman, enjoy tales of King Arthur and other ancient Welsh legends as you explore the impressive underground setting. Tales of giants, battles, dragons, secret underground caves and more.
The stories are told with dramatic scenes, light and sound effects. An exciting adventure for all ages and for all weathers - cool when hot, dry when wet.
Back above ground are the 9 workshops of the Corris Craft Centre. The craftspeople can be seen making a range of unique products including candles, pottery, glassware, traditional wooden toys, jewellery, leather ware, cards and gift bags, rustic furniture, herbal lotions and remedies. The hand made crafts can be bought directly from the makers themselves. This is a great place for finding something unusual and different for your home, garden and gifts for others.
Futher attractions, starting from the Craft Centre, include the Bards' Quest. In ancient times history was passed on by bards and storytellers. Bards' Quest challenges you to search for lost and forgotten legends hidden, for you to find, along the paths of time. Once found stop and enjoy some great stories from Wales.
Corris Mine Explorers, which also starts from the Craft Centre, takes explorers into the virtually untouched abandoned workings of an old Welsh Slate Mine. The mine was first worked in 1836 and abandoned by the miners around 40 years ago. More than 130 years of mining history is captured inside waiting to be discovered. With one of Wales' top Mine Explorers you are invited to step into the tough working lives of the miners and of past generations.
At the centre of all of these attractions is Y Crochan Cafe which uses fresh locally sourced ingredients to create a tasty menu with a Welsh twist.
With free all day parking and so much to do this is a fun day out for all ages.
