Description

Lancastrian pride is evident in the provenance of the produce on the menu. Shrimps are fresh from Morecambe Bay, duckling and chicken are from nearby Swainson Farm and venison and beef from Bowland. The menu features classics such as Lancashire hot pot or fish pie, as well as more modern dishes such as smoked duck Caesar salad. Two new bedrooms, located in the converted corn mill opposite the pub, are beautifully decorated and feature bespoke bathrooms.

Filet of aged Cumbrian beef, thick cut chips, watercress and creamy peppercorn sauce
Baked salmon fillet, crushed potatoes, tomato, shallot and tarragon dressing
12 hour braised pork belly, potato purée, black pudding and cider sauce
Grilled mushrooms, Blacksticks blue cheese, Worcestershire sauce and potato purée
Roast rump of Cumbrian lamb, carrot purée, peas, beans, rosemary and anchovy butter and veal gravy
